Why you need a videographer:
Months and months of planning will gather your family, friends, and emotions together into one remarkable day. Your wedding will become a blur and then it will all be over in an instant.
You return from your honeymoons to just a couple of empty champagne glasses, some pressed flowers, an album of photos, and a bunch of memories and vows to replay in your minds.
The biggest regret most couples have upon returning from their honeymoon is that they wish they had hired a videographer! Photos are timeless, but they just can't capture the whole story.
Give yourself the opportunity to relive your day and see and hear things that you might have otherwise missed. There simply isn't a better way than a video to see how the day unfolded and to be able to share your memories with others who couldn't be there (like your future kids or grandchildren).
Q: How many years of experience do you have as a videographer? A: I’ve been a videographer since 2000, a photographer since the 1980’s and a DJ since the early 90’s
Q: Are you the person who will videotape my wedding? A:. I never subcontract our camera operators. I will be the primary videographer, shooting and editing your entire wedding day events
Q: Will you bring an assistant with you to my wedding? A: Most of my packages allow me to bring extra camera operators throughout the day. However, I always have another camera operator with me for the ceremony no matter the size. This second operator helps me monitor sound levels from my wireless microphones and also frames the second camera for various ceremony events (sand ceremony, unity candle, roses, etc)
Q: What type of equipment do you use? A: We use 3 chip broadcast cameras from Sony and Panasonic. For details visit our equipment page. We believe in using the best cameras and sound that do not draw attention to us. We want you and your guests to enjoy your day.
Q: Do you have a wireless microphone? A: We have up to 8 wireless microphones that can be utilized. Every wedding has a wireless microphone on the Officiant, the Groom. If a DJ is providing music and audio for the ceremony we work with that person in connecting a wireless transmitter to their system feeding their audio into one of our cameras. This ensures a complete fail-safe environment for audio.
Q: What format do you use (VHS, Super VHS, 8mm)? A: We record on MiniDV tapes
Q: Do you bring backup equipment with you? A: Always
Q: Do you visit the ceremony and reception sites before the wedding? A: Yes, and if not already booked I personally attend the wedding rehearsal to see how things have been planned for the actual ceremony and map out camera placements
Q: Do you edit the tape after the event? Who keeps the raw footage? A: I do not subcontract editing. I shoot for my editing style and I edit for my shooting style. I know how I want to shoot your wedding and how I am going to edit it. I keep all of the original raw footage tapes in my vault. However, in addition to the edited DVD version I also produce a DVD that contains all of the raw footage. If requested I can make MiniDV copies of the original tapes.
Q: When will I receive the final product? A: I like to have every wedding video edited, packaged and delivered no longer than six to eight weeks from the wedding date.
Q: Cost of the desired package: What does it include? A: Every wedding video package has the same basic elements. I do not believe in the ‘in-camera’ edit - that is basically raw footage cut with some dissolves. This isn’t my style. Every one of my packages comes with a fully edited video that includes, music, titles, effects in both the cinematic and journalistic styles. The only thing that affects pricing is the number of camera personnel onsite taping the wedding day events, or if additions have been added (montage, projector and screen, etc).
Q: Can you make a photo montage? If so, what is your price? A: We love to make photo montages. Pricing is $5.00 for each photo that needs to be scanned or $3.00 for each digital image. If you are going to scan your own photos get with us ahead of time so we can give you our specifications.
Q: What is your payment policy? What is your cancellation policy? A: Cash or check. A $500.00 deposit is required to reserve your day. Dates are held open until the deposit is received. Verbal commitments cannot be accepted. The remaining balance can be paid either on the day of the event or when the final product is delivered. For out of state clients, or those that live beyond a 100 mile radius of San Diego, we prefer payment either before or on the day of the event. For the deposit to be returned the event must be canceled on, or before 90 days before the event date.
